Frank Deaton was born and raised in Charlotte. He grew up in a household that promoted and lived a life of hard work, discipline and personal responsibility.

These values have propelled and guided him into a successful career owning and managing small businesses and real estate. But helping others help themselves is what has driven Frank Deaton to a life of service.

During his freshman year at UNCC, he was the first volunteer for the new food for the homeless program which delivered leftover cafeteria food that would have been thrown away, to kitchens for the homeless. He worked side by side with the founder of this program and helped it become an activity that students in the honors program would then be required to participate in.

As his father's battle with cancer began to incapacitate him, Frank chose to put his college career on hold and stepped in to run the family business.

Again Frank was there to serve when ever asked and allowed his dad to spend his days surviving cancer without the day to day worries and responsibilities of management.

In the following years, Frank grew and expanded the business interests. As a small business owner he took on the challenges of reinvesting in new machinery and technology which yielded the best working conditions for his staff and became one of the first in his industry to achieve a complete environmentally friendly and labor friendly facility.

Frank was also quick to institute a required one week paid vacation as well as a minimum wage floor that still far exceeds the Federal Minimum Wage requirements. Because he believes in business giving back to the community, he continues to clean coats at no charge for the annual coat drive, as well as cleans at no charge the bed linens and blankets for the “Room in the Inn” program sponsored by local churches that provide overflow shelter for the homeless during the winter at night.

Frank and his company have been recognized by many churches and organizations for his service and charity to the community and for his undying belief that no person should ever go hungry or suffer from the cold.

Frank is an involved member of Myer Park Baptist Church where his values are deeply shared and practiced in keeping with the churches covenant to be "€œOpen to All and Closed to None". He continues to serve in his church as a Scripture Reader, a Member of the Chancel Choir, and as an Orientation Minister. Frank continues to Chair and serve as president of the "€œLakewood Community Development Corporation" which through financial support from his church, other foundations and gracious individuals works to rescue this depressed area of Charlotte by providing quality and affordable housing to those who are financially challenged.

In addition to his service to his church, Frank continues to support such organizations as the Fraternal Order of Police, the YMCA and the YWCA which provides assistance to financially challenged women as well as works to bring an end to racism in our community. He continues to enjoy working for local and national food drives, donating and collecting school supplies for disadvantaged children, voter registration drives and working on Habitat for Humanity projects.
